रेखाखण्ड के लंब समद्विभाजक की रचना

इस रचना के लिए हमें किसी लंबाई का एक रेखाखण्ड दिया गया है। हमें रूलर और परकार की मदद से दिए गए रेखाखण्ड का लंब समद्विभाजक खींचना है। इस रचना के निम्नलिखित चरण हैं :

चरण 1 – किसी लंबाई का एक रेखाखण्ड PQ खींचें।

चरण 2 – P को केन्द्र मानकर , परकार की मदद से PQ लंबाई की आधे से अधिक लंबाई लेकर एक वृत्त बनाएं।

चरण 3 – Q को केन्द्र मानकर , चरण 2 की त्रिज्या लेकर , परकार की मदद से एक और वृत्त बनाएं जो पहले वृत्त को बिन्दु A और B पर प्रतिच्छेद करता है।

चरण 4 – बिन्दु A और बिन्दु B को जोड़ते हुए रेखाखण्ड AB बनाइये । यह रेखाखण्ड , PQ को N बिन्दु पर प्रतिच्छेद करता है।

चरण 5 - डिवाइडर की मदद से जाँचिए कि बिन्दु P व बिन्दु Q , N से बराबर दूरी पर हैं और कोण PNA व कोण QNA समकोण हैं। अत: AB , रेखाखण्ड PQ का लंब समद्विभाजक है।

To construct the perpendicular bisector of a line segment

For this construction, we are given a line segment of some length. We need to construct its perpendicular bisector with the help of ruler and compass. This can be achieved in the following steps:

Step 1 – Draw a line segment PQ of some length.

Step 2 – With P as center and radius equal to more than half the length PQ, draw a circle with the help of a compass.

Step 3 – With Q as center and radius as in step 2, draw another circle which interest with the first circle at points A and B.

Step 4 – Join points A and B. This will intersect PQ at N.

Step 5 – With the help of divider, check that points P and Q are at equal distance from point N. Also, check the angles PNA and QNA are right angles. Thus, AB is the perpendicular bisector of given segment PQ.
